Microphone Tube Replacement advice

Had a thomann sct-800 mic for a while now, and i've heard many reports that the sound can be greatly improved in terms of the high end transient response by upgrading the stock 12ax7 tube that it comes with.

Problem is i know zilch about tubes. I'm after improving the high end of this mic as it sounds a little contrained to me as if it's more a dynamic than a condensor. Especially when compared to my mates rode ntk. Or maybe i am just hearing the high end lift accociated with the rode range?

Anybody know what sort of tube i should be looking at?

Make/model would be great!
