Thanks Deztone. I dont own many guitars myself, just the Gibson and a Fender Tele dark
burst
a Gibson 59 Reissue would be sweet, or a 58 or 57 for that matter.. its
times like this i wish i lived in the US, the prices are ridiculous in Australia (12 grand
for a 59!)

Nope!
The one on the left is my pride and joy - PRS custom 22, 10 top, artist
pack, no trem, wide fat neck, and the dragon 2 pickups.
Best guitar I've EVER
played!

None of them are in pristine condition. I would never sell any of them though.

cheers boys, they do the job, and you could beat someone to death with the Prestige!! Actually
Westone have brought out a new range fairly recently. Not sure what they're like. Check
out therathole.com for loads
of info on old Japanese guitars. There's a world of gimping out there....

I do Love the Lonestar Strat.... I played the prototype a little while before
they were released... Back when Mike Lewis was head of R&D-product development at
Fender.... they were Uhmmming and Ahhhing over exactly which SD model to use
for the Bridge... we had a couple to choose from, trying them back to back.... If I recall correctly the final choice came down to a difference between Alnico III and
Alnico V magnets on an SD Pearly Gates humbucker ... the texas specials were a given
from the word go, but by god did they agonise over exactly what humbucker to use.... ahhh good times those.... played all sorts of lovely things .... Max

Yep, the Lone Star is a blast!
I've done all the 'super-strat' things
(Charvels and likes), but after getting the PRS it just blew them out of the waters
regarding fat, driven, yet clear and precise sounds, so I dumped them all...
Then after a few years I found myself lusting after those clean and half-driven fender
sounds and went through a period of other 'super-strats' (Blades and stuff) but never
really found that elusive FENDER sound I had imaged. Then one day I got to my dealer and
in a corner this black beauty sat waiting for me. Got to borrow it for the evening and
went to our rehearsal room, spent 30 minutes with my Blade to give it a fair chance to
dial in THE sound, after that I plugged in the Fender and just hit a chord, and the
thought that came up was 'Damn, this will cost...'.
This is the most
all-round axe I've tried, it does them all, the humbucker can give any metal-axe a match,
the Texas Special deliver all the crunch You'll need and the are wonderful at clean
settings too...
This has become my main axe when out giging leaving the PRS
home most of the time...

It's probably a little difficult to tell, but my Strat is also of the Lonestar variety,
though in slightly modified form, as it sports a Wilkinson trem and Planet Waves locking
tuners (Max, I still haven't fitted that roller nut - wha'dya mean "coward"!). Good
guitar, and the one I play the most.

WHAP-WHAA!?
It's not quite there, needs a bit more overdrive.
On the
show it sounds like they may have routed it through a Tube Screamer (original one of
course)!

Hi, I'm new here, I found this site while looking for recording forums and have been
lurking for a while. I'm from the States, and have found a lot of good information here.
I've been playing in country/classic rock bands for years, currently working in two bands.
A lot of nice guitars displayed in this thread, below is a link to my guitar page.

Hi Scott, and welcome to the Forum.... Just one more piece of info for you..... sorry, it might seem like I'm being Picky....
but the banner crossing the Telecaster's page is incorrect./... it's NOT a rosewood
fretboard., it's maple.
I guess you know this, but just haven't noticed the
mistake on your web site.
Best regards Max
