HELP, LOGIC PROBLEMS!

just wondered if i could pick someones logic brain if you have a second....

i had to wipe the hard dive and re-install logic express on my mac. i managed to retrieve all my data beforehand, saving it on a friends mac. since then it seemed to work fine loading up these songs i was working on before apart from: not being able to move the individual music files on the main arrange screen. the mouse cursor seems to be restricted for some reason but only moving or manipulating the individual channels like when you use the hyperdraw volume control for example. i dont know if its something in prefferences? or if logic hasnt re-installed properly for some reason? i'm really stuck with it tho...does that makke any sense to you?
