'Full Levels Feature' in Battery2/3

Hi y'all ...

Does anyone know if battery2/3 has a 'full levels' feature like that found on the MPC ? Find it a real pain to have to manually keep tweeking drum and snare parts after recording ... would be helpful if I could just set the software sampler to record at one set level across all pads.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, Mr Walker, can you give me any advice in this area - I'm sure I read somewhere in the past that you use/d Battery as your drum sampler of choice..... And I know that your advice is always reliable .... ??

Are you using a MIDI pad controller then? Can't you get that to send a full 127 MIDI signal each time you touch a pad or am I totally misunderstanding your problem?

Hi Deft ....


No, I am using my keyboard, sadly ( Oberheim MC1000 ), which is not ideal for tapping in drums. Would like to purchase a dedicated drum pad, but pennies are tight.

Not familiar with Battery, but assuming your Oberheim has no settings that would allow it to transmit full velocity at all times - I bet something like Bome's MIDI translator would take your keyboard hits and turn them full velocity before they get into Battery.

It's actually much easier to adjust in Battery than trying to adjust hardware. It sounds like you're using a pre-made kit.

1. In the matrix choose the small "cell" that is in the lower left hand corner of the matrix. (This will select all of the cells)
2. Click on the Mod(ulation) tab.
3. Center the slider that is sending the modulation of Velocity-->Volume (or remove this modulation by switching one of the modulation drop down menus to "none" (if you have all of the cells selected, this will be applied to all of your samples)
4. Record, record, record

mix and repeat.
