Using Pedals on Vocals new
      #565276 - 09/01/08 07:13 PM
I think that this is a pretty easy question but I don't know the answer. I want to connect my mic to something where I will have two outgoing signals. One will be xlr and will go straight to the house PA. The other will be quarter inch and go through fx pedals and then probably to a DI and then to the PA. How to I split my mic signal like this? What do I need to buy?

Thanks

the way i have used pedals for effects in the past is to use a separate microphone to the pedals, and then di box. if you dont want to have a second stand, you can get adapters such as a stereo bar to have more than one mic on the same stand

You will need a channel splitter, you can get pretty cheap ones from somewhere like thomann, then plug the XLR from the mic in to this, and then one of the outputs in to your effects pedal and then the output of your effects pedal in to an effects unit, and the other send from the channel splitter straight in to the stage box/mixing desk.

How about a DI box with XlR input and jack link out?
