Hi,
I have exactly the same spec machine as you. It is fantastic. Buy It.
You will not regret it.

Well if you searh for "Agere" here and on the Apple
Discussion , maybe you'll choose to NOT buy one of the newer iMac but one of the
first generation intel iMac...

Leopard into GB with Maestro. Excellent results Roger imho

Hello all, I too have same machine running Logic 8, Reason 4 & G.P.O. with a Yamaha GO46.
Superb! Struggling with Reason via re-wire though. Anyone any tips? cheers.

I have a basic iMac - 2Ghz/20" - and am loving it to bits. It runs soooo much faster than
my poor old studio PC.
However, there are restrictions. If you want to use
multiple firewire devices then you are sort of stuffed due to apple's silly fw
implementation. This is a show stopper for me, but ymmv. So when I want to replace my
'big' studio box it will be a MacPro. But I can still make music ITB quite happily on this
puppy!

I've got the 20" iMAC and I've been very impressed with it so far. One slight
reservation - if you are planning to keep it in either a cold or smoky room then you might
have some issues with the screen. Unfortunately my studio is in the same room as the coal
fire that heats my home - although I turn it off and cover the screen when lighting a fire
I have some smoke residue just behind the top left corner of the screen. I gather that you
can 'suction cup' the glass off the computer to give it a clean. Also
condensation has proven a worry for some users (check out the Apple discussion boards for
more info). Some pictures I've seen show serious water droplets appearing behind the
screen in certain corners / places. BUT.... these are very specific troubles
and I'm sure that 99% of users will never experience these issues. Just be aware of the
environment in which you'll be placing your iMAC. It's an awesome computer.
