RIP Dimebag Darrell new
      #60562 - 09/12/04 07:59 PM
It saddens me to even think about his tragic murder. My heart goes out to his family and especially his brother Vinnie who was on stage with him during the shooting.

Darrell Abbotts playing and phrasing has influenced me a great deal. When I'm playing I often quote motifs from some of his playing, even in Jazz tunes!

Life is precious and for it to be stolen from him like that bring sorrow to my heart.

RIP Dimebag,
bassdude

RIP Dimebag- one of the best and for me most inspiring guitarists in trash metal. What a waste of life

Apparently the guy got on stage and said 'you broke up Pantera' and killed him. A great musician doing what he did best and killed for it.
A sad day state of affairs. RIP Dimebag.

I wasn't a fan of the man or his music, but he was obviously highly regarded as a guitarist (signature pedals etc) and I found his murder saddening and shocking. A terrible waste of several lives.

I'm saddened by the loss of one of the most individual guitarists around. This is as symptom of a society gone horribly, horribly wrong!

Another musician becomes a legend. One has to wonder what the future of live heavy music is. Security is going to be on every major performers mind now.
