Yamaha Digital Mixer 01V96V2 new

Currently, my charity group is using a Yamaha Digital Mixer 01V96V2 as a live mixer.
I'm interested in using a CD player as a playback to play into the house speaker system. Is it possible? And what do you have to do?

plug the out put of the cd player into the 2 track input then press the monitor 2 track in or the 2 track 15/16 button. maby that might help

In the past, I have plug a CD player into 2 track to play out of the house speaker and the result is that I get nothing of the house system. I have tried everything but still nothing. But the funny thing is that once I shut off the mixer, I get whatever that is coming-out of the CD player by using the volume on the player.

Now the question is... do I need a stereo amp for the cd player?
Because 2 track input takes out (-10db).
