Can't change sample rate from 41000 in Logic 7
      #677812 - 13/11/08 11:24 AM
I can't change my Logic song sample rate from 44100 to 48000 (or any other rate). I select 48000 and it looks as though it's changing, but then when I check, it's still got 44100 ticked. I've only been using Logic on my MacBook for a few days and I didn't check to see what the sample rate was set at until now - I assumed it was on 48 as I was using an Autoload template I used on my G4, but I simply can't say for sure. So I don't know whether or not the inability to change sample rate is due to the MacBook or to my installing Vienna Ensemble yesterday...or indeed something else! I've set Vienna Ensemble to 48000 - and have tried changing Logic's sample rate without VE loaded.

I'm trying to change sample rate using Audio > Sample Rate. Perhaps there is another way?

I'm using Logic 7 on a MacBook Pro.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I've just uninstalled Vienna Ensemlbe, so it seems that it isn't that which is causing the problem. Could it perhaps be something to do with the MacBook's soundcard?

I'd assume that once you'd set up a project with a particular sample rate Logic won't then allow you to change the sample rate- for that project- later. Try either setting up a new project- and set the sample rate before you do anything else (don't record anything beforehand, for sure) and then saving the 'blank' project (and maybe re-opening to check it's kept the sample rate) and/or saving the project as a template, and then selecting that template when setting up any further new projects.

Have you checked that the sample rate is set internally (via logic) or externally (via interface).

I'm not sure about version 7 but version 8 has this option. If it's set to external this may be the cause as you interface will determine the sample rate as opposed to logic. logic will be in "slave" mode if that makes sense?
