I have a PTHD2 and use Abelton and Logic to write, and wondered what other producers and musicians processes were writing with these two in tandem..
Do you record say a loop or phrase and then export and re-arrange in PT from the offset, building in PT
OR
Do you do most of the track in another host (Ableton/Logic) and then sit and render each part out (taking off the fx etc) so its dry and re-arrange the whole song again in PT?
I compose and produce quickly in Ableton and get a good idea/arrangement, but the thought of rendering each individual sound/loop and taking off all the fx (that make it sound great in the mix) only to build the whole thin up again in PT, a bit of a pain?
Am i missing something??
I know Logic is a DAE host and can be run "over" PTHD but what about Ableton users?
I am thinking of using Ableton rewired to PTHD and have protools as my "mixer" so i can use the individual outs of Ableton > PTHD and can use the TDM plug ins BUT use the speed of Ableton's workflow/MIDI/Warping?
Would this work?
How do others work with your host and say PT?
