I have a Sonic Cell, the sounds are essentially Fantom-based with a few new sounds specifically for the Sonic Cell, so they're of the highest quality. You can fit a single SRX card, so it's upgradable to a point too.

The latency isn't amazing, to be honest, and you couldn't use it to play real-time soft synths via the outs on your Sonic Cell, but the recording quality is as good as any other mid-range audio interface.

I use mine for playing live, having used the PC editor to build the sound maps, I don't really use it as an audio interface or song player, but for that use it's brilliant.

Personally I had the sonic cell and was disappointed but I did own an x6 Fantom so I was comparing it to that.
Its a cheaper cut down version and it shows.
Go for something soft and save your money.
Nexus and Alchemy are good.
