Transfer EWQL Symphonic Orchestra License? new
      #779345 - 15/10/09 09:50 PM
Hi,
It's no doubt a dumb question on my part...

Have made the transition to Mac from PC. However, and this is where it gets dafter, I can't currently find my EWQL SO Gold software..

but in the meantime...

will the license transfer to my Mac no problem? I found that my BFD2 should present no problem since it can be authorised on three independent machines.

thanksyou

*sits back and waits for derision!*

cheers, Rob

Are you on a Kompakt version of Gold? If you've switched to a new Intel Mac I've a feeling you'll have to be using the PLAY version of Gold now, and that means the software is licensed via iLok.

Best get in touch with EW to see what the situation is - I'm sure they'll be happy to up-sell you an 'upgrade' to PLAY (kerching), an iLok (kerching) and this months Never To Be Repeated Special Offer Discountâ„¢ (kerching).

I think there may be a solution for you.

There is now a free Kontakt Player which apparently supports the old libraries. The only issue is that it seems to double as a Kontact demo and when I've used it I've had the demo time outs. I'm sure it should work but I'm waiting for a reply from NI support.

fingers crossed - thank you for posting. i despise being punished for the simple want of changing computer... but I guess that's the way with some companies.

hating to bump threads, but (have PM'd Bazza on this) does anyone else know if I really need the Play/iLok setup?

Plan to get Komplete 6 (yes, some duplication I'm sure!) so dunno if Kontakt 4 will be my virtual Knight in Shining Software?

(still hadn't updated due to move/finally getting Logic Studio)

Many thanks

Just replied to you PM, but for the benefit of others I can confirm that the free kontakt player will accept any legacy sample libraries that were powered by NI.
