how do i post pictures on here?

The SOS site doesn't host pictures (if it did we'd quickly need mega servers). So find a
site elsewhere that hosts pictures, upload your image, and copy the URL of that image.
Then create your post on this forum site, and where you want your image in the
text, simply click on the 'Instant UBB Code' located under the text box you're writing the
post in. There's one there called 'image'
Click on that, paste in the URL of
your uploaded picture, and then carry on with your post as normal.
When you
click continue the picture should get sucked into the post and displayed.

Just made this a sticky and changed the thread title slightly, as I suspect Hugh's
response will prove useful to others in the Newbies forum.

Hi prem and welcome to the forum.
Posting pictures is easy.
First find the picture on a website or upload
your own picture to a hosting site such as ImageShack.
OK - so I want to load a picture that is
currently displayed on THIS PAGE.
I find the
picture I want and right-click.
I then click on "View Image info" or
"Properties" (whichever your operating system brings up.
I then copy the image
location to the clipboard - in the case of this picture it says:-
http://www.soundonsound.com/images/forum/www_hotlinkfiles_com_files_361766_ptlbp_Circ
lesound20Recording20Setup20for20web.jpg.png
I then go to the panel below
the Post screen which says "Instant UBB Code" and click on "Image".
This brings
up a separate box - I then paste the image location into this box and click on "OK".
Then when the message is posted the image is displayed as you see below:-

May I recommend Skitch? It's a free application, a sort of screenshot maker and photo
editor. The editor does simple stuff like cropping, annotating, adding arrows, symbols
etc.
The thing I like about Skitch is that it gives you photo hosting too -
at the click of a button in the software. So because hosting is integrated, posting a
photo or screenshot on a forum is really quick.
Skitch
Mac only I'm afraid -
maybe Linux too; not sure.
BTW - I've no connection with Skitch - I'm just a
satisfied user.

Welcome to the forum.
How you
post a picture is well documented above (read my post above).
All you do is to
click on "Image" under the "Instant UBB Code" banner when you post and copy/paste the
URL.
It's as simple as that.
