Synths used on Eno's Deep Blue Day?

Always wanted to know this, but does anyone know what the huge wash pad is from on Deep
Blue Day?
Very Ambient washes underneath the main guitar - Think the album is
early 80's? so I would think something analog (and not his favoured DX7?)
On
the same album, I always wanted to know the pad/synths used in "Ascent (an ending)?

The apollo album was '83, so just into the DX7 era. I'm not sure about the 'Blue Day'
sound but I think Eno said that 'An Ending' was multi-tracked Prophet Pro One monosynth
(with masses of processing).

I don't know the album, but bear in mind that some of Eno's work is created using tape
loops or Frippertronic techniques which can create dense pad like sounds.

There are ways to warm up the coldest of synths I have a particular delay plugin I use that I mostly only use for one preset, which
instantly turns any cold, sterile, flat and lifeless synth sound into a gorgeous warm pad
with thickness, movement and life. So even a DX7, programmed, played, arranged
and recorded appropriately, using nice choice analog hardware, tape, tape delays, EQ can
be turned into thick warm lush soundscapes...

Indeed, that would normally be
my feelings too. But that track is my Dads all time great tune. He's a huge huge huge
Brian Eno fan, and he also likes trance and likes the stuff i do in that genre. So i
decided i'd make him a remix. When i finished it i sent it out to get some comments and
Armin Van Buuren just signed it straight away. So i was hardly gonna say no!

Haven't heard it, but could it be a CS80? Quote:
Brian Eno with Daniel Lanois and Roger Eno: Apollo
- Atmospheres & Soundtracks
Notes: In 2008 Daniel Lanois told Gearslutz:
"The main synth was a Yamaha CS-80. This is a polyphonic synth, one of Yamaha's first. On
Deep Blue Day there are two guitars, a strumming Strat plays the rhythm and the steel
guitar is my Sho-Bud single neck Professional. They were both recorded DI. Eno put a
massive treatment on everything. The complexities of the chain are unspeakable! But those
treatments were worked on for weeks on end."

Can't get more polar opposite than a DX7 vs a CS80..!
