New studio in summerhouse advice please. new
      #843599 - 01/07/10 06:58 PM
I understand that its going to be a compromise, but I want to do what I can to not annoy the negihbours. I play tenor sax.
I have a Summer House, its made of wood, has insulation (for heat). It has single glazed windows and a set of double doors with single glazing in.
I cant afford to go whole whack and sound proof but am thinking about what cheap steps can be taken to reduce the noise.

Some of you must of tried so any advice is welcome

Zero

Yes, I tried many years ago with a similarly flimsy structure and failed.

I suspect that there is very little that can be done unless you are prepared to build a complete new structure inside the summerhouse.

The best advice is to choose your practice times to co-incide with the times that the neighbours are out.

James.

Welcome to the SOS Forums ZeroZero!

I agree with James - by the time you’ve installed sufficient sound proofing to make a difference you won’t have enough room left to fit you and the saxaphone inside
