No firewire port so Projectmix via ADAT? new

Hi, I've hit apon a snag. I've recently transferred all my Cubase 5 project files to my desktop which has all my plugins and stuff installed.

I can't use the DMX6fire 24/96 interface in the desktop because it's ASIO driver just stutters far too much so I went to hook up my M-audio projectmix and now I have discovered that the firewire port on the front panel doesn't have a connector on the motherboard so I can't hook it up via firewire.

I've lost the manual and I'm not too sure about connecting stuff up, so I'd just like to ask can I connect the Projectmix up via ADAT cables to the DMX6fire front panel and use it's drivers that way?

No, sorry, it doesn't work like that.


you need a firewire connection. period.... the drivers will not see it any other way,

Find another FW-port (on the back?), or connect th one you have. Any decent MB from this century will have FW-capabilities.
