Play button in Cubase stops working

HI all, I've upgraded to Cubase Studio 4 and downloaded the latest update and the play button has started to act weird, it works fine for a while when I trigger it with my space bar or the button on my ShuttleXpress but then it will suddenly decide to work using the mouse ONLY, but all the other functions on the Xpress continue to work fine (jog, scroll, Rec, FF, RW) WTF! I have to save my project and reload it then everything is back to normal, it's not the ShuttleXpress dropping out as the space bar on my keyboard stops triggering play as well, anyone know how to sort this?

Btw, I'm on a Mac G5

It's not a partly fuggered space bar, perchance? You *shouldn't* have problems if other transport controls are working as they should at the same time; the only time I've experienced anything similar in Cubase is if Cubase freezes out and keeps playing for a bit (processor overload), but that applies to all controls, not just play/stop.
