what do you use to write charts/chord sheets?

Is there any free software out there that intuitively allows you to add chords to lyrics, transpose the key, and lay out the lyrics in a matrix of bars?

I'm not talking about stuff like finale/sibelius. I'm thinking something more simple and cut down.

Any recommendations? I currently do my charts on .doc files, but there's inherent problems with printing them on different machines (chords get moved about etc..)
