KRK RP6 G2 HELP!! new
      #856168 - 24/08/10 01:05 PM
I'm running an M-box 2 to my KRK RP6's, currently using the Balanced TRS. I'm getting some buzz though, I've figured out it is something to do with my leads. My question is whether its because my M-box has Unbalanced outputs or whether its because I've bought cheap n' nasty leads. Any thoughts on how I could solve this?

Cheers

Okay, I've found this in my KRK user guide...

"Check the connections between the signal source and the monitor. The monitors Neutrik(r) Combo connector is a completely balanced system. If you're connecting an unbalanced output to the monitor, be sure that you're using PIN 2 for signal and have PIN 1 and PIN 3 tied together at the source end."

Could anyone elaborate on this please? Because I have no idea what it means, haha.

Cheers

It's nothing to do with the monitors. If you're using a mixing console/M-box with no balanced monitor outputs you will get whatever filth the cables pick up on their way to the KRKs.

Even so, KRK still advise using the balanced inputs regardless. Makes you wonder why they included co-ax in the first place.

I had the same problem, switched my leads to XLR and that seemed to solve it.
