Need help with pro tools, soundcards and mixers! :( new

Hi guys, I'm hoping to build up abit of a studio, i need to know if a soundcard is needed if i have the 003 rack and a mackie db8 mixer for the use of pro tools LE.

if so which ones can you recommend which will work with this hardware and will work with logic aswell?

Your 003 rack is effectively the soundcard. No other coverters are necessary. It will work with Logic via the CoreAudio driver which is installed by default when Protools is installed.

If you do not intend to use / install Protools, download and install the standalone CoreAudio driver from the Avid site.

NB this is obviously general advice as more detail is required for something more specific. Check that there are no compatability issues with your proposed set-up.
