MS20 Controller under OS X 10.5 / 6 ? new
      #878862 - 02/12/10 06:14 PM
Hi All, just wondered if anyone is using this ?

Since the MS20 plugin has just been released as an individual purchase & the controllers are still knocking around I wonder if it would work ?

I guess it all depends on the driver for the USB midi connection ? or not ?

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Worked on 10.5 last time I checked - I can plug it into a 10.6 machine tonight. Think I've done it before an it worked ...

At the end of the day, it appears as a simple usb midi input device..

Cheers guys, really fancy one of these even though they seem to be slightly toy like. Does it need a driver install or does it just work ?

It's USB class compliant, so needs no drivers. To be honest I only use it with the MS20 software - and it's brilliant with that. The keyboard is useless except for trying out sounds. If you're looking for a controller, something like a Novation SL is a much better bet.

Cheers Stephen, It would be specifically for the MS20 as I have always fancied one but not ready to fork out £1k ?

I did try the software years ago & thought it sounded really nice so if I can find a cheap controller I'll pick one up.

Thanks all,

Does anyone know how the patch cable detection works on the controller? Is it as simple as each output sending a different voltage, which tell the inputs what is plugged in?
