Anybody know where you can buy music in High Res format?
I've heard that
Blu-ray has higher than CD sample rate (or was it bit rate?) but I've never gone down that
way before. I'm just curious that these days we have the technology to record and process
music in atleast 24 bit depth (possibly higher but not sure) and at 192KHz sample rates.
Although I know why they do record at these resolutions so that you get better sound when
its dithered down to CD 16/44.1 but it would be great to be able to listen to a lot of
music, particularly classical music, at these higher rates.
Just wandering if
you guys knew of anything. Someone mentioned SACD to me but as far as I'm aware
that's just for 5.1 surround sound isn't it?
A lot of times artists release high definition versions of their albums on their
own sites. One example is the soundtrack for The Social Network; you can buy it from its
own, dedicated site on Blu-Ray audio, and in various downloadable (including lossless)
formats.

Hi mate, thanks for the reply.
Haha, yea I never googled it for some odd
reason. Though Admittedly I have NEVER bought music online before so it's not my go to
place for it but some of those sites look good.
