Energy saving bulbs and radio mics

Dressing-room bulbs have just been replaced by energy-saving ones. There's evidence that
they may be radiating something the radio mics don't like. It doesn't reach the stage,
there's no practical problem. Unless some bright spark decides to go all green with the
decorative bulbs on stage! Anyone else come across this?

me... i cant see why your going to have tonnes of problems here.
Yes fluorescents do put out RFI, but how
much of a problem it is is debatable. If you are having a problem, temporarily replace
them with the incandescents. See if the problem went away. If it did, then you have your
answer.
However it is very unlikely you would have problems outside of that
room as the amount of RFI is only enough to really cause problems with nearby
transmissions (Wired and wireless) and as long as your receivers and antennas aren't in
your dressing rooms, you should be fine.

Agreed - it's a problem. To the extent I won't have fluorescent energy saving bulbs in
the studio. The effect is very short-range, but I wouldn't want to record an electric
guitar in the same room as one of these things.
LED bulbs are OK though. (And
far more expensive at the moment).
