Typing as I listen...

Nice beats... The Gregorian style chants are quite pleasant but might need a little more verb to place them more in context than in the mix... (An odd thing to say but I hope you get my meaning... ) They might even benefit from double tracking...

The minimalist synth work fits in quite well but might benefit from a bit of EQ to make them punch through a little bit more as the basic levels seem right...

The "Heys" might be a bit dry in comparison to the space you have verbed your drums into...

Overall this is very pleasant and extremely listenable...

Cheers!

This voice gve a lot of work and was subject of several threads in other forums....The problem is that this voices, i.e., the samples, were originally affected by heavy reverberation to simulate a chatedral....The voices should be in front of the mix but, due to the reverb, the only possibility was to affect all the other instruments with more reverb to place them behind those voices...I think you can imagine the result if I would do that...

This synth was a pain in the ass...it do not seems like but its sound has a lot of energy around 1500 Hz and 160 Hz...It should be cutted but it will damage the it's effect in the song. Very difficult, indeed (at least to me ).

Yeah, they're a bit at the front and dry...I noticed that but, for my personal taste, I liked it.

Would be better if it had more than two chords. The bass line is good, as is the drum beat, but the other elements (chant etc) sound stuck on, try and incorproate more real instruments playing as its sounds like a lot of samples stuck together.

Or like Dad playing Gregorian chant in the living room and teenaged kid playing dance music upstairs and the listener is in the hallway between the two.

If you can, record some of the vocals yourself, and replace the parts with real played instruments.

Oh, and it has that "plasticky Reason" sound, no depth or height, just in a straight line between the speaker cones.

Sorry, but the song sounds unfinished, and like it doesn't really go anywhere, just meanders.

Thanks, Chickenjohn, for your comments.

Yeah, I understand you but it was meant that way. Note that, in the final part, I mix the first part of themusic together with the chorus. I like these kind of thing.

Loved this analogy!
But do you mean the mix, the stereo image? Or just the music genre?

No problem, no need to be sorry for that. I'm here to improve my music!

Thanks again.

Gregorian chants are soooo last century.

The voices are mixed too low though.I had to really turn up the volume to hear them and by then the bass was too loud.
Im thinking this sort of thing has been done to death to tell the truth. Why not move on and try sampling mains hum and putting it to a beat?

I happen to like it... would agree with the previos reply that the vox needs to be raised in the mix... Very nice all in all though.

Many thanks for your comments. About the voices being too low (or far) in the mix, I also agree with that. But this was a result of the sample which has a lot of reverb. I've tried to find a compromise between the voices and the other instruments.
