Signal Splitter to split Bass guitar via 3 signal paths
      #915979 - 24/05/11 07:34 PM
Hi to all,

I want to record a friend’s bass guitar simultaneously via 3 separate signal paths: Path 1 will be the DI track, Path 2 will be via a Bass Pod & Pass 3 will be a miked-up Mark Bass cabinet.

Can anyone advise or recommend a suitable device to take a Bass Guitar (or any guitar for that matter) and split the signal into 3 paths?

Thanks in advance

Lo Zen,
You could just solder 4 jack sockets pin for pin. For bass the extra two loads would be unnoticable I would think and probably only slightly so for guitar.

Rather better to buffer the guitar and almost any pedal, even in the "off" state will do this and present a source impedance of about 1kOhm, not Benchmark feed Z's I grant you but over 15mtrs or less of cable quite good enough.

Note, you want an active bypass pedal not one of those (DAFT!) "True" bypass things.

Nice one Frank. And you don't need any fancy boxes to do that either!

Dave.
