Have you tried Echoes or Echo Trip?
      #917003 - 30/05/11 06:40 PM
If so, wondering about your impressions on these products from Nomad Factory and V-Plugs. Sound? Useability?

Thanks and happy recording.

Hi Neil. It's a fair question. Truth is if I demoed everything that looks interesting that's all I'd be doing! For the past few years I've relied on this forum to help me narrow the field and I've been very happy with the results. I greatly value the experiences and opinions of this user group and have always found the discussions fair and well balanced. Entertaining too. Contributors often point out plusses and minusses not mentioned in reviews (if there are any reviews). Some considerations may never surface except in comparing products.

Dare I ask if anyone has tried Fab Filter's Timeless 2?

Useability I suppose depends on what you want to do with a delay.
I tried the V-Plugs and I thought it was very good. It seems to evoke analogue units well and you can keep it simple (although I thought it could do with a smaller simple mode interface) or go in-depth - it invites tweaking and exploration.
It goes to the lengths of having several types of sampled mechanical noise should you wish to have some.
It has a resonant filter which I find extremely useful in a delay.
If you want an analogue flavour and/or want to bend that sound then I haven't tried better (Soundtoys delay, although good, seems less analogue sounding to me and does not have as many options).
It does what I want in the way of a re-201 better that the UAD re-201, and is of course far more tailorable.

See what I mean, Neil? You're one of the good ones out there. Very useful.
