Hi, does anyone know if Alesis do a caddy that will take a SATA drive and if so where can
I get one in the UK. I'm finding it really difficult to get the IDE drives now.

unlikely, due to the adaptor necessary, and the lack of space... , but PATA drives haven;t
been difficult for me to get so far... where are you looking?

Agree with that. When I was running my Fostex D108 I found buying second hand drives off
ebay easy and cheap. Provided you select the seller with care you shouldn't hit problems.
I didn't with three or four such purchases. CC

I've just got a Western Digital drive on amazon. Its an IDE 360G, when i try loading it
into the HD24 it dismounts it saying, HD reset jumper fail. On the odd occation that it
does load it gets to 70% and then takes ages to get to 100%.

Alesis don't do one, though someone told me there's a 3rd party one but it's of very
limited availability.
The best thing to do may be to register on the Yahoo HD24
Usergroup....there's a load of stuff on there.

Unfortunately this is a known problem with certain Western Digital drives (I think it's
the Caviar Blue ?). I had the same issue 2 years ago, and Alesis said they were unable to
provide a fix. It's to do with the firmware on the drive itself. I gave up & bought
Hitachi Deskstar instead, and re-used the WD drives elsewhere.

Mate you CAN get a SATA caddy from the Yahoo group. Just join and ask.
Also
Ebuyer and scan still have IDE drives for sale. And they are the only two places I looked
