Steinberg SMP 24 Firmware upgrade required

I bought a Steinberg SMP 24 a few weeks ago but it has a firmware version of 1.4 and Cubase requires 1.6, which the user manual clearly states and sure enough my v1.4 will not work with Cubase. You can see which firmware version you have when the unit powers up, on the red scrolling led display.

A site admin over at Atari-Forum.com who lives in the UK has kindly offered to copy the v1.6 EPROM chip from whoever lends me it, so I can have another chip made from the data. Luckily it is socketed on mine so no soldering will be required.






Thanks for any offers of help regarding the loan or copying of the data from your v1.6 EPROM!

Update:

Since the opening post I have now upgraded the firmware to v1.65, and this works perfectly with Cubase and Cubase Audio. I solved this problem by purchasing an additional SMP24 from Ebay, which had the v1.65 firmware EPROM inside. I have since sold the second SMP24 and in the process, the buyer had the opportunity to copy my v1.65 EPROM for himself.
