Does anybody know of any useful modern books on the above subjects that are relevant to the UK/Ireland music industry.

You should probably know everything that's in Passman , although it's aimed more at artists and producers.

Take a few days to take in everything on Rob's site . I think he has some book recommendations too on the site, too.

Do a good trawl through this form and the V2 forum. Some people who do or have run labels have contributed.

I used to run an indie/punk label for six years. I found this mailing list quite useful http://groups.yahoo.com/group/indielabels/

I've never read any book about it but read loads of interviews with people who had been running indie/DIY labels.

I'd recommend reading interviews with label owners within your musical genre because each scene works slightly differently and books usually don't cover the specifics of them.

If you're into indie pop, look for articles on Rough Trade, (now defunct) Slampt and any label from the Beggars Banquet group.
