Nice, isn't it

Guitars, strings, drum heads, they all look amazing when you can capture them in that detail. And it's very educational to see the theory in such unforgiving detail. Recommended to everyone.

It truly is a wonder to behold. I would love to see some 3D modeling of sound waves emanating from various instruments with the data extrapolated from these videos.

Here is a nice one of a snare drum hit...

That is a pretty video. Doesn't Radiohead's video for Nude have a load of slow motion shots of them playing?

So it does! Here it is: link

Time Warp on the Discovery channel had this amongst other super slow-mo action. . They also had footage of the sound wave from a whip crack.

Love it, thanks! Now I'm beginning to understand why a blip of white noise doesn't quite cut it as a synthesized cymbal. That's some complex stuff happening there.

And here's a link to the Plek site and a high speed strobe video of a guitar string vibrating.

Equally scary

You can see this easily at home

Try hold your guitar so you can see the string in front of a TV (it may need to be an old fashioned CRT type)

I know, but I was hoping Zuke would follow the link and buy me a Plek machine for my birthday
