I've had a set of ADAM A7's for a few years now. They're an absolute pleasure to listen to.

Highly recommended

I got a pair a while back to replace my HR824's ... they're great for what they cost.

My AE22s were a huge step up for me. Even in my untreated room with its big humps and dips, they still sound great. Next step, sort the room out!

Good monitors should *not* be a pleasure to listen to.

They should be telling you what is wrong with your recording so you can fix it.

The two don't have to be mutually exclusive
A great monitor will reveal a lot of crap in a lot of mixes. But the best mixes will sound truly glorious and a pleasure to listen to on them.

It's funny the other day I was listening to a dance compilation CD on my new PSI A21-M's and the sound seemed soo crushed and distorted to the point I actually thought something was seriously wrong either with them or something else in the signal chain. That CD had never sounded soo bad.

But then I put on a Dave Matthews Band .wav track on my hard drive I knew was well engineered and wow what a sound!. Then I knew it wasn't the equipment at fault, it was just revealing a lot more issues in that particular CD.

+1 for AE22s. Love 'em to bits. Not too bright, not too boomy, nice and accurate - what's not to like?

Having just discovered that Wonkey has A7s, I might try and sort out a listening test as I was about to investigate the A7s when the AE22s came out and I got them for a good price.

Adam A7's here too. That plus Sennheiser HD650's takes care of my monitoring needs.

I've got the 501a's. Love 'em. They're my first pair of active nearfield monitors (been using old hi-fi speakers before) and discovering the sweet spot was a revelation. (A bit like the first time I found another, hard to find 'sweet spot' but that's a story for a very different kind of website.)

I have Focal CMS65's and love them, but my studio buddy has some Adam A7's and he loves them. He ended up selling his KRK sub and rokits after getting his Adam's
