Sony DMX-R100 & Cubase 6 new
      #935540 - 20/08/11 11:50 AM
Hey folks.
i Really hope i can get some help here.
I just bought a Sony DMX-R100 to use with my Cubase 6.
The card i use is RME HDSP9652. Drivers installed OK
OS is Windows 7 x64 12 GB ram, 2x2TB Raid Sata3, Intel i7 4x3Ghz
MIDI in/out from SONY to PC

The problem is: How do i get this to work with controlling recorded stuff in Cubase.
To record is fine, but to get faders and EQ to work as control unit for Cubase is not working.
What have i forgot to set right?

Please someone, a bottle of Cognac or Whiskey to the one that solved my frustration.

Best Regards
Pax Greger

I don't think you can!

The R100 is a mixer not a DAW controller, and while it can IIRC send MMC commands those basically deal with the transport controls for the most part.
I do not believe it has much DAW control capability built in beyond possibly transport controls.

Regards, Dan.

Strange... I got the faders to respond to mixer in Cubase.
And there is similar questions out on web, some seam to find solution.
But what do I know, have not talked to those succeed.

Ill keep looking, else the mixer would be sold - I guess...
And the seller would be in hospital(joke...)

Thanks for reply

There is nothing much in the manual concerning use as a DAW controller, but they may have added it in a software update and the supplements for the later software versions I have not read.

Have a look at the manuals for the later software revisions, they may possibly give you what you need (and newer firmware can be installed).

http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/cat-audio/cat-mixers/product-DMXR100/

Under the resources tab. The manuals are all there, but on a cursory glance there is not much on using it as a daw controller as opposed to a mixer with automation that can be controlled by a daw.

They are quite nice desks however.

Good luck.

I did found a place for help.
For all other with the same mixer - try this.
There is someone here that is almost ready with the XML file for Cubase.
BUT - help out everyone. Share your ideas and experience you have with this mixer to other.

PS: you have to be registered member to access the files, and my experience is that Login with Facebook did not do it, have to register with a yahoo mail and your in...

Good luck to you all.
Looks like my luck have turned, have to buy myself a Cognac...
