Epiphone Sharaton Bridge
      #936273 - 24/08/11 09:12 AM
I have a early 90's Epiphone Shearaton, with non-standard 72mm bridge post spacing. I want to replace the bridge (firstly, I don't like it, secondly, the head has broken off one of the intonation screws, making it impossible to adjut that saddle), but this size of bridge is virtually impossible to find. Any ideas?

It's worth double checking your measurements to be certain, and make sure you are measuring from centre to centre on the posts.

I've found this WD ABR Bridge with 74mm centres. As it is not expensive it might be a candidate for modification by drilling the holes out slightly larger, which is how most users resolve the problem.

Apparently, WD Parts used to carry a replacement with 72mm centres but that is long discontinued. However, I found a link to a suitable replacement from the USA. It's $50, but don't forget you will have to pay shipping, Duty and VAT to bring it to the UK. Greasy Groove Inc is the place if you are interested.

With a little lateral thinking I managed to discover that the Fender Jazzmaster/Jaguar bridge is on 72mm centres. And here's one I found online. And I am sure you will find plenty of other options if you go that route.

Hope that helps

Thanks for that information. I had actually seen the Greay Groove one, but unfortunately it's black, which is nouse to me. I'm generally a Jag player, so I should have thought of that. I'll look into it.

Always glad to help..

Best of luck, and don't forget you could always get a black part sandblasted and refinished for not very much.
