Hi,
I am looking to replace my Focusrite Saffire Pro 24DSP because my current
one has gone wrong.
I'm torn with either getting another Focusrite Saffire Pro
24DSP or the Steinberg UR28M.
Thing is one is Firewire and the other is USB.
I run a lot of large vsti's and vst effects here and generally record up to 4
channels at once (but mostly one channel at a time). I also need midi which the UR28M
doesn't have so I would have to by a midi interface aswell.
Which of these
would have the best quality converters and preamps? Also, would there be any difference in
latency and how many channels I could reliably record at once?
Would having a
USB audio interface and USB midi ports have any effect on system performance compared to
just using one firewire interface with midi built in? I already have a lot of USB devices
plugged into my pc ( Korg Pad Kontrol and Nano Kontrol, Cubase dongle, M-Audio Keystation
88ES ).
