Imperfect Samples - problems and no tech support!

Hello all, I don't know if any of you have any experience with Imperfect
Samples sampled piano libraries, but I can't get them to load in Kontakt 4.1 and I'm not
getting any response from them by email. Basically I followed their
instructions to the letter, downloaded the massive RAR files at home on my laptop (faster
broadband connection - still took about 10 hours); took the files to my studio, unpacked
them, tried to load in Kontakt and got the message 'The patch could not be loaded (unknown
error)'. Now I suspect I may have fallen foul of their copy protection, because
on reading their smallprint, it seems that the samples are watermarked in some way (with
an IP address?). So possibly they will only work in the same location as where they are
downloaded. Does this sound like a possible explanation? (I think I have Kontakt on my
laptop at home, so I will try to load them on it and see if it works...) Either
way I am getting absolutely no response whatsoever from their email support address (just
info@...), and I'm getting very frustrated. Does anyone
have any experience of their support? Is there any other way I can get hold of them? Thanks in advance, Ben

Googling the error it sounds like others have sometimes fixed it for other sample
libraries by updating Kontakt. First thing I'd do is check the NI site for the latest
updates...should be on 4.2.3 I think. It won't be the watermark.

Are you trying to load samples (i.e. WAV/AIFF files, or the like), or are you trying to
load Kontakt Programs?
Sorry if this sounds pedantic, but I do know that
Kontakt Programs are fussy about which version you're running - a problem I am also only
too aware of myself, since I have an older version.

Ah right, thanks. I did try updating Kontakt, but it failed a few
times (flaky wireless broadband at studio). Will try it again.

They're all kontakt programs - so yes, I will try to update to
4.2...

Right, have tested it at home on my laptop, had same error message, updated to Kontakt
4.2.4 which solved it, so hopefully doing the same at my studio will sort it.
Thanks for the help chaps!

Kontakt is (as The Elf mentioned) very particular about versions, even down to
sub-versions - something made in 4.2.3 won't load into 4.2.2 for example. The
error message you described is exactly that problem (why they don't have a more meaningful
message is a mystery though!).

OK - got it working on my main computer, having downloaded the Kontakt update at home and
installed on my main computer at the studio.
I should say, I have had
absolutely no response whatsoever from my emails to Imperfect Samples. Not impressed.
(Though the piano sounds nice.)

Ben
I've contacted them (although I think
it's a one man firm?) a couple of times in the past and both times got fast and helpful
answers...... Did you use the form on the site, in case there's a funny with the
email?

I tried both. Still
haven't had a reply actually...
