Interesting experiment but I
guess it begs the question why would anyone download it either way? And I mean that in the
nicest possible sense!

.. oh god, did that come out really wrong?! :headband: what i mean is it's
difficult to get noticed even if you give stuff away ... ... what about paying
people to download? now that would be an interesting experiment!

I can tell you the results
from this very similar experiment:
http://www.piethaag.com/Piet_Haag/ARE_YOU_STINGY.html
On
the left of the page, is the "stingy" option, you can download free iTunes ready, ID3'd,
artwork etc...
On the right of the page you can go to bandcamp, vibedeck,
itunes stores and pay for it.
.. nobody has bought it so far as I can tell, and
there have been a modest number of "stingy" downloads.
So, abandon most hope
:-)

Isn't this the case with all music nowadays though, the pay/not pay option? Mash :P

Yeah, but in the case of the OP above - and
the page I linked to - it is effectively an advert directly from the composer, giving the
listener the option to buy or download free on the same page. The experiment, assuming you
listened, is that if you liked it enough to want it, did you pay for it or take it free?
Overall, its more advert, or maybe statement of frustration, than experiment unless the
intention is to present detailed data at some point.
BTW, I did listen to the
OP's album - generally nicely done, accomplished, acoustic pop, with some fine moments -
though a bit same'ish for my tastes. I chose a third option - didn't buy, didn't download.
Thank-you for the background sounds. (sorry )

Well...After a long while, 4 people bought the album and 69 (good number! :P ) downloaded
it 'illegally'.
I imagine that most of the people who just downloaded it were
my 'friends' on facebook. So that's nice...lol
3 friends bought it and 1
random person decided to buy it instead of just taking it...
It's up on
iTunes and a host of other sites now. Reason 6 should arrive tomorrow so I can get to work
on the next album. Can't wait!
*EDIT* seeing as I cannot edit the original post, I have password protected the download
on megaupload to prevent any further downloading.

When I click "Buy it now" I get an error page saying "Hmm, that shouldn't have
happened".
Hmmm.
