Looking for some feedback - electronica new
      #948736 - 23/10/11 05:40 PM
evening all... so in the collective i'm part of (see sig) we're all doing a 30 minute continuous piece of music as a bit of a challenge, and i'd like to get some feedback on the first part of mine.

it's actually the first two sections of the piece - the first bit is basically atmosphere-setting for the second part, which is very hard drum and bass. well, at least it's *supposed* to be hard - i guess that's the opinion i'm looking for.

listen on soundcloud

any and all comments gratefully received! i've had issues on the bass end of a lot of my previous songs so i guess going for a DnB style was asking for trouble...

Hi onesecondglance!

Changed post icon to 'Link' so it's more obvious that you want feedback when people look through the thread titles

A very nice atmospheric and evocative piece. Would possibly work well as Underscore.

It's not got as dark or edgy as Prodigy but that's not necessarily a bad thing. When developing a signature sound, it pays to be different.

I am no D'n'B aficionado but this works well for me.

Hola,

The DnB part for me lacks a bit of variation in the break downs - could do with being a bit more suspense building. Other than that all good.

The intro is more interested to me that the DnB part, bits of it reminded me of some of the Social Network score.

Have fun

thanks Dunc. i think i know what you mean about lacking tension - listening again last night with a fresh pair of ears it's like the cymbal-led sections are the pay-off for the hi-hat-led sections. i might try and make more of that to try and give it more ebb and flow.

i am also well chuffed by the comparison with TSN. cheers!
