Hello!
Apologies if this is the wrong section to post this question. I've just
bought a Carillon computer (2nd hand) running on Windows XP, Saffire Pro56 interface and
Cubase5 (Studio).
When setting up a new project is there a particular order I
should be doing things? This is what I've tried so far with mixed results!
1.
Power up Saffire Pro 2. Power up PC 3. Load Cubase (Go to 'Device set-up' select
Saffire Pro as ASIO driver etc.) 4. Create new project 5. Set up VST
connections: 1 stereo output / several mono inputs (I haven't set up stereo inputs as I am
mainly recording voice and guitar) 6. Add tracks within Cubase project (Mono In,
Stereo Out)
These are the steps I've taken using the Cubase 'Start-up Guide'.
The result has been a signal registering within the Saffire Pro mixer from the inputs, but
no signal going into the recording tracks in Cubase. I'm also not able to hear the Cubase
Click (do I need to set up separate routing into the Saffire Pro for this?). I'm using the
'Zero Latency Monitoring' pre-set in the Saffire Pro 56 which automatically routes DAW 1 +
2 outputs to the Saffire Pro mixer, so I assume there should be a signal coming through
from Cubase - the problem seems to be in the VST input routing, but I'm really not sure
what I'm doing wrong!
