I'm in a band and we have a halloween show tonight. The bass player's amp died last night
and we're all pretty broke. The venue will not have a PA or any type of sound
amplification, so its all got to come from our amps (and our hard hitting drummer). I do
have the following supplies though that I thought we could put together somehow to use for
a bass amp: An Art TubeMP preamp with high imppedance instrument input and line
out -A KLH kl2400 200 watt (100 x 2 @ 6 ohms) amp with 'pre out' and 'amp in' RCA's
in the back (with jumpers connecting them) -A GemSound tr-150 600 watt PA speaker (8
ohms) -Other smaller amps and a mixer What I've been trying to do is plug the
bass guitar into the Art pre, connect that to the amp 'aux in' (with the ballance set all
the way to one channel), and connect the amp to the speaker, but I'm just not doing
something right. Instead of doing it that way, I was also thinking of disconnecting the
jumpers connecting the 2400's preamp to its 'amp in' in the back and then connecting the
Art pre directly into the 'amp in', but I don't want to break anything. Any help
would be tremendously appreciated! PS - We've checked into fixing the original bass
amp, but it's completely fried.
