Pickup swap - anything I need to know?

Hi all. am going to change the pickups on my Epi Les Paul tomorrow - sick of the mud,
want some clarity and some upper mids.
Have seen several vids on you tube of
how to do it, looks pretty simple even for someone who hasn't done it before - I can
solder though
The new pickups are 2 wire same as the existing ones, so it looks
like a straight swap - I have recorded the gauge, taken photo's of how it looks before the
swap etc It seems deceptively easy which worries me...
Is there anything
important I need to know? Any do's, don't or tips you could share to ensure I don't
make a pigs ear of it.
Thanks

other than making sure you get the earth soldered on to the pot casing properly , it ought
to be straight forward,
however, if it all goes horribly wrong, bring it
over and i'll show you how it's done.

You were SUPPOSED to say... 'PHEW!!!, that was REALLY
difficult.'
Have fun testing those new pick-ups

Good, they are Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Pro Slash by the way didn't say that before More edge, more note definition, more high mids, bit less bottom, less mushy, more
clarity. I think I must have done it right, as there is no difference in noise of
hiss anything like that and the selector switch still works.
I now sound
exactly like Slash, only with about 0.00000001% of the talent.
Recording them
this weekend, with better guitarist than me so hopefully we will hear their potential. Not
a huge fan of signature stuff, but everything I read indicated that they where the ones so
I thought I'd give it a punt - you never really know what they are going to sound like
until they are in the guitar but so far so good.
