Job – Cake Baker

I require a skilled and experienced baker to bake me a cake.

The cake will need to be decorated based on a theme that I will send you once you have been chosen as the preferred baker from the shortlist. Please provide me with (lots of) samples of the styles of cakes that you like to bake.

Ideally, I'm looking for somebody who can bake the cake immediately, with the ability to complete the cake within three to four weeks.

I am based in The Midlands. However in my experience, it is possible to collaborate with anybody via telephone, e-mail, internet, etc.

This is a self-funded project and unfortunately I cannot offer any payment. However I will of course ensure you receive a photo of the cake in your preferred format.

The cake will be entered into competitions, and should it win any, you will be free to credit yourself in your CV for your collaboration in helping me make my cake. Unfortunately there will not be space to afford you a credit on the cake itself.
If you're interested, please get in touch and I can send you an online link to view the temporary cake I have been using.

Awesome! Can I use the cake for my portfolio even if I don't get the gig, or will you keep all the rights to my cake? In other words, do you own the cake, while also retaining the right to consume said cake?

Thanks, I'm sure it'll be great exposure for me and my cakes.

Chris

I'd like some flour and eggs, is it possible for you to unbake a cake and extract just those parts? Have you not got a device that can cancel out the other ingredients?

Oh, gutted - my baking facilities are only able to accommodate bread.
I would appreciate it if you would keep this in mind should you have any similar opportunities...

I tend to use auto-bake for bread, but I will definitely keep you in mind if I need something more organic or less processed.

I think there may be some confusion here - if you are looking for stems, you may need to use the other sort of flower.

Three years between registation and your first post. Did you doze off for a bit?

Anyway, if you can unbake me a cake, it would make my life much easier as I wouldn't have to go out and sort it out myself. Thanks.

Yes, I will own the cake, but may be able to share a portion of the pie with you.

Do you know anyone that can make pies?

You can't get bakers like this man. I mean - most of the online guys are just sending out Tesco's own brand cake bases and simply icing them. You might be better off using Mr Kipling slices from some sort of online cake library.

I make cake using samples from other cake makers resulting in a sort of Battenburg to the power of 20.

Nah, all those courses do is teach you all that ephemera about cake decoration, spun sugar work and pretty food colouring.

You'd have been much better off getting a solid Home Economics or Chemistry degree, and then starting at the bottom as a kitchen porter.

But don't despair there are still good opportunities to be had in food-mixer repair, or icing sugar deliveries.

Sounds good to me, I don't really mind how the cake is made.

I've just finished baking a cake!

I had to use part of someone else's cake (quite a famous one), and it's very recognisable... The recipe for the original cake is over 50 years old, but the cake I actually incorporated into my own was only baked four years ago. Who should I contact if I want to sell my cake?

I would very much like to bake a cake for you, but unfortunately have severely limited resources (and ability).

Perhaps you could manage a small loan to help me out. I'm sure you will easily be able to recoup this once you have the cake and start distributing it.

P.S.
I am willing to sign over the rights to this cake and the next 3 I bake.

im very interested in the job lol i have 243 gigabytes of cake recipes on my PC... ive got copies of ProCake 7, Cake Tools 11, ProCake 7.1, AutoBake Elements, Cakewalk Pro, Bob Katz Bakemaster Essentials 2.2 with crack and serial, Eats Wets Quantum Leap Baketronic Ensemble Uranium Edition and 17 gigabytes of other stuff (i dun know what exacly because the torrent titles arent very helpful lol)

i havent finished any cakes yet because ive not got alot of experience in mixing lol... so ill just lay down some tasty basic ingredients 4 u... then let u do the mix, OK?

i do have a baking tech "A" 'level, so howabout a 50/50 split?

oh and does anybody here know how too type in my cakes just using the pc keyboard because pro mixing kit is rediculousy pricey?

I can't afford a cake tin, is it OK to do it all in the box?

I sampled the Battenburg Concerto, will mine taste as good?

I find the pickup pattern of my cakes to be very consistant although the effect of repeatedly being in proximity to them can seriously exaggerate the bottom end.

If anyone's interested, I have for sale a rare vintage analogue Breville Pie Magic. So much warmer than modern digital pie-making devices without that nasty harsh top crust.

I am overwhelmed by the response, but to be honest I don't understand most of the technical jargon being used.

So here's the deal:

I require a cake. Once it has been sent to me ownership of the actual cake will be transferred to me and may or may not be used in my cake project at my discretion. The recipe will be 50% owned by me, and 50% by the baker. But you will not be able to bake another cake using that recipe without my permission anywhere in the world in perpetuity.

There will be an opportunity to have a share of pie as part of a backend deal subject to negotiation.

The ability to bake pie will be taken into account when the cake maker is chosen.

...anyone seen that cake-baking programme on TV ("The Eggs Factor")? It's all about a bunch of actually talentless bakers who think all they have to do is put a pre-prepared cake (that's actualy been made by someone else) into an oven and come up with some sob-story about how this cake could change their life (in other words make them rich) and enable them to look after their disabled mother whilst actually knowing absolutely f**k all about baking cakes. The usual format is based around a Christmas Cake to maximise sales of whatever particular cake is deemed to be...er...I was going to say the best but it's not.
Anyway, it's a pile of shite but millions apparently watch it.
