Favourite Acoustic Instrument plugin's (Jazz, Funk, Soul...) new
      #956493 - 30/11/11 09:53 PM
Hi everyone,

I'm in need of suggestions for a good all round acoustic style instrument plugin... i've been rocking my jazz, funk + soul vinyl rips for ages now, and would love to have an all encompassing plugin with decent selection of Sax, Horn, Guitar, Rhodes, Flute, String, Female + Male voice etc etc...

I write Dance based stuff, so it doesn't have to sound extremely real as a rule...

I love my Korg M1 plugin, something along the line of this I guess is what i'm after..!

Your suggestions and thoughts would be appreciated

Thanks!

That's a pretty diverse selection of sounds, so to get them all in one rompler you'd probably need something unreasonably large and expensive like Colossus. If you're not too worried about realism I'm wondering if you'd be better off with another general-purpose synth like FM8 or something. Omnisphere is another expensive all-rounder. Cakewalk Dimension Pro also springs to mind for some reason as a budget alternative.

Kontakt + bundled library. Then use something (better still, someone) for the box.

Kontakt. There just isn't a credible alternative sampler. There are modelling plugins that will do specific instruments better, but if you want all those sounds from one instrument, Kontakt is the only reasonable answer - doubly so if you go for Komplete Ultimate with all the extra Kontakt instruments. George Duke Soul Treasures and the Scarbee bass & guitar will be right up your street.
