Using the Motif Rack with JUST a MIDI keyboard?

I've tried the chain as follows and have had no luck:
Oxygen 8 >> MIDI OUT >> Motif Rack (01 version) >> MIDI IN

Other:
I'm monitoring using headphones

When I hit shift+audition, I hear the pre-recorded 'demo' of the instrument (through the headphones)... when I hit the keys on the MIDI keyboard... there's nothing

I'm just wondering if I can JUST use the MIDI keyboard with the Rack without the use of a computer. If so, HOW?

Hi -

First thing is to check if they're both on the same MIDI channel. If that seems OK, I'd try a different cable or a factory reset.

I believe that I've set it up correctly in the 'Utility' menu, not sure though :/

How would I go about setting the Oxygen 8 v.2 to the same MIDI channel? I've always just plugged and played.

Perhaps that's the problem. If I find out how to assign both correctly, I'll give it a shot
