      #960263 - 22/12/11 01:18 PM
I'm thinking of purchasing an Ibanez RG1570Z- just wondering if any of your esteemed selves have any opinions on this, or similar, instruments.
Merry Christmas!!
Tristan.

RG fan here! I have a (I think) 2001 RG550, which AFAIK was one of the last (pre-anniversary) ones to be made.

They're great guitars — very playable, good all-rounders. IME, they're excellent for metal and jazz, and decent at everything else.

Cheers!

Chris

Last few Indonesian Ibbys I've tried had improperly dressed frets which were sticking out on both sides on the neck, a quick slide and you'd cut your palm, so I'd be rather careful and buy the guitar only after I've played it.

the 1570 is a million miles from an indonesian cheapo....

it's a proper ibanez, not a cheapo knock of licensed thing...
