Any chance of a return for this in the New Year?

(Otherwise very happy with the revised forums now I've lived with it a bit).

Not likely. Goes against a "philosophy" or sommat.

The answer is clearly "No".

See the last dozen or so posts here:

Thanks very much, I missed that thread. Interesting discussion on both sides, but I still find myself in the "For" camp, perhaps because I don't regard myself as that far from being a newby myself and clearly remember what it felt like. I would have much preferred a Newby forum where I would have felt less bad about making a fool of myself than I did when I did.

Hey ho ...

I don't remember you (or anyone else really) making a fool of themselves by asking questions. The only daft question is the one that isn't asked... and all that.

Thanks, Hugh, appreciated. But I felt like I'd made a fool of myself on a couple of occasions - you're probably quite right, I didn't and certainly nobody treated me as if I had but I felt like it. That's why I think a Newbies forum helps the newby - there's no real logic to it but there's a lot of emotion.

Cheers,

CC

I have to say that on the occasions I have asked for advice in these forums a) the best of it has come readily from the most respected experts, who are inspiringly generous with the stuff, and b) its only ever been the less good advice as dispensed by people who probably has as much (little) idea as I do that has ever come across as condescending or designed to make me feel foolish. Which is why I think on balance the decision to ditch the newbies forum is a right one.

I still make a fool of myself and I'm a music production genius.

Arse, done it again...
