Anyone know of a Shergold twin neck for sale?

As a favour for an old friend I'm looking to re-establish him with a Shergold bass/12-string (or any other configuration at a pinch) - a la Mike rutherford circa 1976.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of such a beast being available I'd like to know so I can pass the details on to his missus.

Believe me, I've tried every other avenue I can think of!

There's good news and bad news Elf...

The bad news is; if I knew of anything like that I wouldn't advertise it, I would grab it for myself. I always loved those Shergolds.

The good news? I haven't seen anything like that for sale recently, so if you spot one grab it

And when you think about it, it wasn't that long ago when every guitar shop had a Shergold or two for sale. And that's when every town had a couple of guitar shops. They have to be out there somewhere, but I have a feeling that they are in car boot sales and provincial auction rooms.

I had long, agonised discussions with my old friend when he decided to sell up last time around. It really was a beautiful instrument - if I'd had the money I'd have bought it myself - and I don't play guitar or bass!

We were young and foolish!

I tried out a shergold in 1979, fab instrument and perfect set-up, must have been one of zen's first attempts

Not a twin neck but I saw a Shergold or two in Wunjo last week...
