Various guitars... ¿is there a switch in the market?

¿Do you know if there is in the market some kind of a "switch box" that will allow the
connection of various guitars to a single effect chain, so switching will be as easy as
stomping on the appropriated button?
Our guitarist uses a Variax, a Gibson and
a Chet Atkins all through the gig, and wants to get rid of the "turn volume down - Unplug
- plug - turn volume up again" process...
Any advise, will be welcomed...
Best!

Look into Lehle , Radial , or my preferred method: Tuner pedal that mutes
your signal. You can then swap cables without turning down etc.

If you have three guitars it's probably best to go for an ABC pedal.

Stomp switches are either going to be sequential or you need one per input. In both
cases you really need some form of LED display to tell you which guitar is active and this
means extra electronics and a power source.
I would prefer to K.I.S.S. and use
a 3 position rotary switch. Yes the player needs to bend down and operate it by hand but
he is surely not swopping guitars mid-phrase?

Hmm, rotary switch in a wah housing...
Ease of use would be either silent cable
+ spare jacks or the ABC pedal. But I like the wah + rotary switch idea...

I use a Korg Pitchblack+ - but that only handles two guitars : http://www.korg.co.uk/products/tuners/pitchblackplus/tu_pbp.asp

ABC-Y stomp pedal. Morley do one for £80ish. Or from a quick Google, there's these guys
who both have a range of switch boxes.

Alternatively use two normal AB-Y stomp pedals.
FWIW, there's a
Behringer dual AB-Y stomp pedal. Seems to work OK, and reasonably priced. Downside is
that it doesn't have a 9V power supply input, so it needs to be fed batteries. And
changing the battery is a proper PITA.

WOW! Thanks a LOT. Only one question... what does K.I.S.S. means?

K.I.S.S. = "Keep it Simple, Stupid", but "stupid" is not meant to be insulting, it's just
an idiom. It also supposedly stood for "Kids in Satan's Service", but that
might have just been the Baptist fearmongers trying to put the scare into me back in the
day...

Yes, the "stupid" is more friendly/affectionate really, like Dellboys' "Shut up you
tart!"

No worry.. I myself use the KISS acronym every now and then, but when I saw it in writing
with the dots, thought it was a technie thing... so in this case the stupid is pretty much
well used!!

If you're going to use a stomp box - use the Lehle ones. The rest just aren't up to it.
Personally Id use a silent lead.

I think Daggilarr is quite right. You should use Silent lead and Hot Swap as I have a
personal experience of using it.
