I think this shows clearly the need for a chairman in future games, ideally a moderator with the power to apply appropriate penalties (though I know there is continuing discussion at the highest levels as to what actually constitutes an online equivalent of Nap). Are any of the mods skilled at Humphing?

My Humphing skills lie more in 'Purveyor of Blue Chip Filth' area. The online Nap, or eNap, should be resolved soon. I hear rumours that Apple already have an iNap app in development in anticipation of the W3C Consortium agreeing the standard.

The main qualification for a Chairman is the inability to come up with an acceptable excuse to not take the poisoned chalice. My watertight excuse is prepared and ready to deploy as and when required.

CC is at a disadvantage here. He has conceded that he sees a need for a Chairman, which is perilously close to taking a step forward and volunteering.

Hmmm, now you've got me. Admittedly I have some experience chairing on the Southern League Playtex Cross Your Heart finals of 2010 and I am currently Humphing on concertina.net, but I learned there than the Chairman has no friends. I know I have no friends now, but I don't want to put up more barriers in the way of one day getting one, perhaps.

Very true. Last time I became the chairman of anything it was because when the group involved was deciding on the need for one and voting one in I was on holiday...

If no properly qualified individual can be decided upon perhaps an actual chair could be persuaded. There were some very authoritative chairs discussed in the studio design forum not so long ago.

Or am I being silly?

The chair I'm sitting on now creeks a bit. But I'm not sure I would be able to tell if it was trying to say something.

Humpff.

If my move had been accepted, we could have asked the good people at Speakers Corner. I'm certain they would've had an answer - several in fact - and all you'd have to do is step across the road and through the park gates.

However, I do like the idea of a real chair, preferably a nice walnut rocking chair. That way it can tilt towards the most favourable resolutions.
