If you're talking about the 'knocking' rhythm noise, it sounds like it might be sped-up
kick sample, actually. Or a slowed-down woodblock or clave.

Thanks for the reply! That does sound like it could be it, idk about the sped up kick but
the slowed down woodblock sounds right, Do you know where I can find a sample pack for
claves or woodblocks?

I would buy an old sound module by Emu or Roland as most of this music will have these
sounds as their base...percussion included.Dave

Doesn't Generic MIDI (General MIDI?) have both woodblock/Clave and kick? Maybe not great
quality, but if it's being stretched out 4000%, maybe it would be OK?

So you guys think its just a time stretched woodblock or clave hit? Ive been experimenting
still with no luck. Definitely a percussion hit? Correct?

You could also try a down-pitched sample of an FM DX7-type wood block, or
xylophone/marimba too.
You're going to have to accept that you'll not get
that *exact* sound, but you can get close.

One again I have kept experimenting and gotten nothing that even sounds decent. I am
pitching down percussion after percussion, even trying some filters and still I am empty
handed. Here is another example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irfSOiH1_Ns&ob=av2n Its at 45 seconds..

That's a different sound altogether. Sounds like a (909, maybe) tom pitched high - your
previous example was a sample pitched low.
