What do people think of the Apple Magic Mouse? I've got a Mighty Mouse, the USB one with
the little roll ball at the top, it's alright but can be a bit refractory sometimes, the
roll ball gets slippery and doesn't scroll in all directions. Is it worth getting a
Magic Mouse, or are there any other options my esteemed collegues know of? Sincerely, Tristan.

Personally, I think it's horrible (as all Apple mice have been).
Logitech all
the way for me, MX or VX Revolution... I love that the MX even tracks on glass...

And just to even it out, I got a Magic Mouse for Xmas to replace my Mighty Mouse. I love
it. Every more "normal" mouse I've used since has just felt odd and uncomfortable!

Magic Mouse is OK but not great. I keep inadvertently touching the surface which causes
sudden scrolls - most disconcerting. I've supplemented it with the track pad which I
rather like and use most of the time, but that can be awkward for operations like cutting
and pasting and sometimes clicks don't register. The two together are pretty good. But if
you want just one mouse, I'd look elsewhere than Apple. CC

Used mighty and magic, prefer magic, much better tracking. But I get occasional CPU spikes
when zooming, can't seem to get rid of these, not sure whether a driver issue or a local
platform issue. Anyone had a similar apple mouse zoom experience??

I have mighty, magic, trackpad and Logitech. My preference for my recording
computer is the Logitech. I have the scroll wheel programmed for zoom in Logic and it's
more accurate and solid somehow. I use the magic mouse and trackpad for
admin/artwork computer. More fun and gestures can be useful for navigating. Mighty is just plain odd. Bob

Mighty mouse is acceptable but I switch off the side buttons. I find the Magic mouse
uncomfortable. Got a nice cheap logitec LX3 at home and happy enough with
various MS mice at work. Worst mouse I ever used was...

I'm still using the one button, standard wired mouse.

You've had some excellent feedback already, but don't give up your Mighty Mouse unless you
have to. I posted about 2/3 years ago that my Mighty Mouse was doing silly things,
and not scrolling correctly, but after buying some alcoholic based hand cleaner from my
chemist (Maxima Green hand Sanitiser ) I put a little bit on my finger, and rubbed it into
the scroll ball for a few minutes ( UNPLUGGED ! ) and Hey Presto, the mouse was running
beautifully again. I don't personally like track pads for use with Logic, and the
Magic Mouse was very expensive on batteries, so, I still love the Mighty Mouse USB ! Good
Luck.

I've yet to find an Apple mouse I could get on with. Delighted with (oh the shame) a
Microsoft 2 button+wheel thing, for all of a fiver, alternating with a Kensington Expert
Pro trackball, which is the dogs pyjamas in certain situations.
